Even though we are in a technological world, we still use handwriting. It is a form of written communication to express our ideas and thoughts. Handwriting is very important in all of our lives even in adulthood. As an adult, there's nothing better than getting a handwritten card or note from someone who you care about.

Like spelling, grammar, and phonics, handwriting is a support skill that helps build a strong foundation for student success. Studies have shown that if you use handwriting versus keyboarding, you may actually remember the information better in handwriting. Many students are going through the school system with handwriting that is very difficult to read. With all the concentration in schools to prepare for state tests, sometimes there is limited time available to work on improving handwriting.

Elementary School

If the teacher is unable to read the student's writing, their work will be marked wrong or they will be asked to complete the work all over again. This can lead to decreased self-esteem and stress for your child.
